January 24, 2011 “photos”

When I look to the West on evenings like this, I want to chase that fleeting sun.

December 5, 2010 “her kiss”

“her kiss”

the letter she wrote

is sealed with a kiss

her red lips kissed the paper

and kissed my love-sick heart

my longing eyes

have pored so often

over the loving note

that the words are worn

and the page is falling apart

but like a favorite quilt

on a cold winter night

the words comfort me

and the lips that kissed the paper

warm my lonesome heart

December 3, 2010 “snow kissed”

snow kissed”

take a walk with me in the snow

across the soft blanket of quiet snow

and listen with me to the hush

that has settled in the valley

on the cedar and pine

and rested in my heart

for I know you are mine

as we walk hand in hand

in the pure white glistening snow

kiss me among the fluttering flakes

falling feathers from angel’s wings

that tickle our smiling faces

leaving behind traces

of silver trickling across the spaces

that no longer exist between us

the melted crystalline passion of our lips

kissing in the shadowless glow

tasting the sweetness of love…and new-fallen snow

November 13, 2010 “iron heart”

“iron heart”

***

rusted iron heart

of a rusted iron man

turned to dust

in the steely chest

of his faceless form

rusted away

a slow decay

through salty years

of raindrop tears

without the love

of his iron maiden

November 1, 2010 “boat”

Boats photo by: tlh

boat”

boat

mast standing tall

pointing to the stars

keel laid at a word

in a whisper

by shipwrights

in the clouds

launched

on the siren poem

of a soft voice

crying from die Kaapse dokter

going to weather

fleet and yar

to the offing

and the future

by dead reckoning

making this poor dreamer

a landlocked sailor

October 19, 2010 “Fall Photos”

This is a video look at some recent photos I shot not too far from my home. I hope you find this is 4 minutes well spent, at least the music is good :)

Fall Photos From Home

October 17, 2010 “Moonlight Kiss”

My friends, this is the song that inspired the poem “dying happy”.  I could not find a video that suited me for this song, so I just put this one together myself. It’s not much, but it’s better than the others for my purposes.

Thanks to each of you that commented so kindly on the poem; I’m glad you liked it.

P.S. I found the cure.

October 13, 2010 “The Pearl”

My beautiful  daughter: The Pearl

For One Shot Wednesday

“the pearl”

see into my soul

my eyes will tell you who I am

if you catch the fleeting glimpse

see them watching

they will know you

look through you

they will undo you

my eyes reflect my heart

my eyes will tell you who I am

I am youth

I am strength

I am beauty

I am pure

I am the pearl…

what will your eyes reveal?

September 25, 2010 “tealight dancer”

“tealight dancer”

fluttering shadows

mixing with dancing red

and orange shapes

on my ceiling

mesmerizing

my scintillated mind

with visions of her

pirouetting body

spinning through my head

in the sensual glow

of the tealight by my bed

September 20, 2010 “evening, stars, and moon”

For Poetry Potluck

“evening, stars, and moon”

evening bids adieu to the singular sun

sinking into his blazing bed

and gives a welcoming hello nod

to a million stars overhead

winking, blinking, twinkling stars

in the indigo sea overhead

evening basks in diamond light

sparkling in the deeping skies

he lavishly flaunts his sable robe

before those adoring eyes

shimmering, glimmering luminaries

with jealously enamored eyes

but evening ebbs from his coveted stage

to play a second-fiddle tune

to his million stars, those adoring eyes

paling in the glow of the moon

that gloriously glamorous, alluringly amorous

night’s divine diva…the moon

Just a few photos I took recently…

September 18, 2010 “Rhapsody, On A Theme Of Paganini”

This is my favorite single piece of music…I find myself humming or whistling it so often. I hope you take the time to listen, and let your heart hear it…

September 15, 2010 “side by side”

This is for One Shot Wednesday

I shot the photo, and liked it, so I challenged myself to write with it as my theme.

I encourage others to join me if they would like.

Just link or tag or whatever it is back to me so I can read them. :)

“side by side”

they met in the market

making small talk

neither thought

neither dreamed

but as it turned out

things were not

as they seemed

inconsequential

for little did they know

as they parted

they were fate’s

neither knew

they were meant to be

together

one from two

indivisible

but he had caught her eye

her heart followed

he was hers

they were one

forever mated

for all time

not alone

uninterrupted

his touch comforted her

she calmed his mind

as time passed

love their tide

they traveled the world

hand in hand

side by side

August 31, 2010 “loveshine”

“loveshine”

shifting shapes
of
towering forms
in
constant flux
are
portending storms
all
stand amazed
at
darkening shrouds
of
mingling mist
and
climbing clouds
as
roiling shadows
in
boiling blue
bar
beaming sun
to
mortal view
but
heavenly splendors
past
stormy pale
keep
love shining
thru
silvery veil

Just this photo today…the Cedar Brook nearly got the best of me earlier, and I’m tired.
