My Irritations, Aggravations and Inspirations

April 1, 2010  “…rumblings of war…”
The winter is past.  The season is upon me when rumblings of war can be heard as they echo through the hills and valleys…it is far from me, but, alas, I know it lies at my doorstep.  The sun shines it’s warming rays upon the land.  The sheep and kine give birth and the birds nest.  The earth brings forth its bounty upon bounty! Yet I am vexed and distraught and my mind is beset with foreboding.  War is come!  War, that I and I alone must fight.  My enemy has encamped himself at the walls of my castle and he rattles the foundations of my gate.  He taunts me.  He is emboldened  in his winter-rested strength and unafraid in his verdure.  He is assured of victory in his collective conscience; in his numbers he sees no defeat.  I, in my fortress, am an island alone in a sea of mine enemies.  Yet, I do not despair as I prepare my implements and weapons for the battle inevitable.  My spirit boils within me and the thirst for the fight burns on my tongue…it will be quenched!  The Green Horde, my avowed enemy, awaits beyond the verge…
