My Irritations, Aggravations and Inspirations

April 10, 2010  “Final Photo…?”
Today marks the final day in my attempt (successful) to post a fresh photo every day for one month.  I have posted a few more than 31 days of photographs.  When I first thought of doing this challenge, I thought it would be easy.  I soon found out that doing a photo a day was harder than I thought. It’s hard to think of a good subject every day, as you can tell from some of my choices over this last month.  However, I have learned a few things by sticking to my plan:
a. I became more familiar with my camera since I had it in my hand almost every day for a month.  That may not seem to be a great big deal, but it will make a difference when I have to bring my camera to the ready quickly.
b. I learned to always be looking for a photo scene; keeping my  eyes peeled for compositional angles. I’m learning to look at the world as a photograph. I can’t always get the shot I want, but I’m seeing the possibility of the shot, nonetheless.
c.  I’m beginning to learn a skosh more about editing the photos. I still have a ways to go, but I’ll get there…layer after layer, keeping the good and cropping out the bad.
d.  I’m getting used to having the camera with me all the time.  I’m getting more at ease with stopping what I’m doing and quickly snapping a pic or two.
e.  I’ve also came to the sad realization that I can’t do a
self-portrait to save my life.  I see all these great do-it-yourself portraits people have on all their websites and I can’t get one right at all.
I’ve decided to continue with trying to post pictures as often as possible, so please bear with me.  Some of them will surely suck, but some might be pretty good….it could happen!
Those of you that read this little blog on a regular basis… Thank You!  You help facilitate me getting positive feelings doing something I enjoy, and that’s a great feeling.
