June 25, 2010   “The fool”

Why is it that the man In Love
spends half his time feeling like a fool,
and the other half acting like one?

  1. But doesn’t even a fool deserve a chance at love?
For how could he resist you?
You whose very words allow him to reach beyond this mortal plane,
In a world where only two mattered,

Dedication and commitment, he can see them so clearly,
For wasn’t that all he had to offer?
His goals, dreams and aspirations in life altered,
These merging, all focused on your happiness,

“Give me a chance” he whispers along with a silent prayer,
His heart beats with the speed and strength of a charging elephant,
Sweat beads down his forehead, quickly swept away habitually with a cloth,
You nod, and so the journey begins.

  3. …because in his mind, he thinks the man not in love is actually the fool that spends half his time thinking like a fool and the other half acting as one.

    • I do think that you are correct Emmanuel…maybe there is hope after all. Thanks for commenting.

  4. They say only a fool tests the depth of the water with TWO feet? Just Say’n 🙂

    • It’s very difficult for the fool to test the water…with both feet in his mouth. Just Say’n

  5. This made me laugh. I’ve often felt like a fool in love and I’m a woman.

  6. Because at least that same in love, when in love, sees the value of (being) a fool. Besides, it’s a phase… just like so many other phases, only much more closer to heart. 🙂

Because, to this man in love, time is of no essence. What is half, or the other half to him anyway? To him, there is only a now, and a beyond… a hopeful beyond

  7. What if I believed forever ?
I might finally see the sun
    What if dreams were illusions?
I could catch that silver cloud
What if there was no tomorrow?
I would be with you, for sure
    What if.. poems were wishes

    that could actually come true??
    🙂

    • What if I promise evermore
I’ll walk with you ‘neath the sun?
If I could make your dreams come true,
I would catch that cloud and put that silver round your neck.
      Tomorrow would fade to eternity
If I could be with you
      I will write you poems
Til your wishes all come true.
