My Irritations, Aggravations and Inspirations

June 27, 2010 “Untitled – Free Association”

This is an exercise in Free Association writing that was suggested to me by my friend Buttercup600The Arts Web Show is where it all originates.   The idea is to listen to this song with a blank page in front of you and write, as you are moved by the music, whatever comes to your mind.  Don’t think too much, just let it flow.  Don’t worry about spelling or grammar…just write.  When you finish you can edit for spelling …I did (mine looked like gibberish). You may be surprised at what you create, I was…..

June 27, 2010   “Untitled – Free Association”

I am a bird
I fly
The sky
is my home
I fly alone
I dive
I flit
I flutter
I am free
I feel the wind
I am a bird
I’m a black bird
I am a bird of many colors
But I’m a free bird
My feathers rustle in this cold wind
I see forever in the blue

I am flying to the sun
I want to be warm
I need to feel its rays
I’m a bird
The air is my bed
The earth so far
The trees my rest
I feel the freedom of the ages
The mist on the sea
As I fly over
The sea takes me home

  1. Wow it’s awesome.
the rules were only spelling mistakes.
But i like this so much i wouldn’t wish you to change it.
What matters is that the words are organic which is after all what the challenge is about.
    Thankyou for participating.
    It means a lot

    • The truth is I failed to hit return a couple of times as I typed…other than that and the spelling it’s just as it came to me. Thank you very much for taking the time to read and comment…it’s very encouraging. Thanks

  6. Good job picking up on Sev’s challenge. Like it. “The freedom of the ages” . . . casts itself as a blessing in free style and spontaneity. Fine work. Thanks!
