July 3, 2010   “Shadow Ghosts”

A rubicund moon oozes
itself onto a deep-purple
velvet night.

Casting its sanguinary pall
on the cold-white diamond
points of light.

Saturnine shadow ghosts
in clear-black ether
shimmer and quail.

Night Mares are waiting
on the blood-red beams
just beyond the pale.

  1. I enjoy your writing more and more every single day and the sincerity with which you explore new horizons. Words fail me as usual…I love the feeling of this poem. ~ Amanda

Oh, this is spooky – just the way I like ’em! Thanks for pointing this one out to me – I love it. It reminds me of Stephen King/Dean Koontz’s work – some of my favourite authors!
