My Irritations, Aggravations and Inspirations

August 21, 2010 “a better day”

“a better day”

we say we understand
but we don’t, we can’t
it means we’re trying
Love is what’s tying
all the disconnects
together
Love is the go-between
it connects scene to scene
when you’re tossed at sea
facing stormy weather
and I’m on the shore
I can do nothing more
but stand
I cannot steer your ship
I cannot know your fear
but I can shine a light of Love
to let you know I’m here
to be your guide
to connect these two
stranded souls
from so far away
and bring you home
to a better day

  2. A thousand summers, a thousand storms
The time will come when all the waiting’s done
    And forevermore…you’ll share your love…
You write from the heart Cowboy…

    • Red…I fear your comment may be better than my poem πŸ™‚ This old Cowboy will just stand here and hold the light…
Thanks so much for the kind, thoughtful comment, it means a lot.

  3. Yes, we can be that lighthouse shining from the rocky shore… just when our loved ones need it most. I like this. πŸ˜€

    • Thanks again, My Friend. It seems that often all we can do is stand and be a love beacon for loved one…and that is just as often, enough. πŸ™‚

  4. Everyone needs to know that someone is “there.” They may think they can do nothing, that they don’t understand. But just by being there, they understand more than they know, they help more than they can imagine. Beautiful, Tracy.

This made me think of my daughter. It’s so hard to let her be hurt or frustrated, but you do them such a disservice if you don’t.

    Lovely as always …

    For you my friend…http://randomthoughtsandmusings.wordpress.com/2010/08/21/thank-you-but-i-have-nothing-to-say/

    • Thank you, My Friend. You are right, but sadly, sometimes we have to let them make their mistakes and suffer their own consequences.

  9. When the intent is good and noble, it eventually leads to something good.. you may or may not see it now.. but you will, someday…
You have, in such a fine manner, expressed this delicate sentiment in your poem here, Tracy…
    Kudos, my friend
