My Irritations, Aggravations and Inspirations

September 7, 2010 “dead poet”

My friends, I write from my heart, I write about Love, and sometimes… Love Hurts!

This is done as a string of Haiku, obviously not traditional, but the form holds true.

“dead poet”

______________

the poet lies dead

beneath the shadow of love

of a broken heart

*

lay him on his pyre

kindled with tear stained pages

purge his tortured soul

*

ashen smoke rising

spirit flying homeward bound

pen and ink are dust

*

smoldering ashes

blackened bones consumed by love

and hot passion’s fire

*

love’s black memory

surrounds a still unburned heart

his love undying

*

glowing red ember

poet’s heart longs for the sea

to be cast westward

*

setting sun sinking

into a far golden shore

his love there waiting

*

to find her love’s heart

there reborn as the Phoenix

at touching her hand

    • Yes, you are correct. I was going to do it one stanza per day, but I finished it today, so here it is in it’s entirety. Thank you for the compliment.

  7. The amazing part of your blog today is the fact that I just read another blog that has the same topic…I find the beautifully strange and highly interesting. You could check what the other blogger said about the same topic you chose…nice work. Cheers, my friend.
