October 13, 2010 “The Pearl”
My beautiful daughter: The Pearl
“the pearl”
see into my soul
my eyes will tell you who I am
if you catch the fleeting glimpse
see them watching
they will know you
look through you
they will undo you
my eyes reflect my heart
my eyes will tell you who I am
I am youth
I am strength
I am beauty
I am pure
I am the pearl…
what will your eyes reveal?

eyes are very revealing but it seems as though what you see in yours (your daughter) is a treasure worth writing about. You have an interesting way of thinking that brings a great perspective to words.

Beautiful, Tracy. Look into her eyes, and I’m sure you’ll see her great love and gratitude as she thinks, “Thank you, Dad.”

The eyes really do have an incredible power to create a connection – even more than words I think. I wonder why this connection isn’t focused on more in society – maybe it’s too private or deep or too dangerous to our necessary illusions. Very nice and powerful poem. Thanks.

Thanks for the visit, and for the kind comment. I think direct eye contact for most everyone in just too intimate.
