My Irritations, Aggravations and Inspirations

January 1, 2011 “thoughts at midnight”

***

“thoughts at midnight”

outside my midnight door

the darkness is shattered

by gunfire and bombs

thunder-rocked air rattles my floor

stillness and tranquility

vaporized in the flashes

are ringing in my ears…

the travail of two years

the ebb

of the dying old

the possibility

of the infant new

memories and dreams

past and future

for a moment

then…

another explosion

announcing…

a birth

a death

a beginning…

the end

  5. Tracy, this was profound and haunting. A beautifully lyrical way to start the new year.

So aptly worded…that moment when the end and a beginning sit on either side.
What a teaser to start the new year….I can’t wait to read the gifts you have for us this year!
Wishing you much health and happiness in 2011 and may you continued to be blessed with that well spring of inspiration!

    • Dear Cindy,
Thank you for your support in 2010, and for all your kindness, both here and at your blog too. I certainly will try to write things you will enjoy reading in this coming year. You are a gem of the North 🙂
