My Irritations, Aggravations and Inspirations

December 17, 2011 “Oh, Christmas Tree”

 “Oh, Christmas Tree”

Fraser and Douglas trussed tight

lying on the sidewalk

bound prisoners with no way of escape

stacked like cord wood for a fire

price tags or toe tags

to trees they’re the same…

Merry Christmas!

  3. And not only that. Many are cut down in their prime in autumn, and forced to die a slow death. It’s no wonder then begin to decay (as dead things will) as soon as they are untrussed and brought indoors. Support local farms.

(This was written tongue in cheek, but I find I believe it…)

Merry Christmas to you too, Tracy.

    • Thanks, Patti, D, and Charles….I saw the trees at Walmart, and it struck me as sad and a little pathetic to see them bound up like hostages…not Christmas trees at all. Thanks to each of you for your support this past year, and for each a Very Merry Christmas!
